Mike Jenkins
Our team and family leader, Mike, passed away in December of 2022. Mike was a research scientist and educator with a BS in Biology from the University of Redlands, and MS and PhD degrees in Forestry and Entomology from Utah State University. Mike was a University Professor at USU for 35 years teaching and doing research in Forestry, Wildland Fire Ecology and Management and Snow and Avalanche Science. Mike was a long-time ski patroller and avalanche forecaster with a passion for skiing, hiking, climbing and observing nature. He has writing a book based on travels across the seven continents entitled The Nature of Mountains. Our team intends to carry on with his legacy.
Liz Jenkins
Liz served as secondary science educator in the Utah public school system for seven years. She later earned a MS in Plant Pathology, and a PhD in Ecology from Utah State University. Liz was a forest and rangeland health specialist for the United States Forest Service, Intermountain Region for 20 years. Her areas of expertise include forest insect, disease, and invasive weed management, forest reclamation, wildland fire, snow avalanche, and other disturbances that influence subalpine forests of the Interior West. Liz is an avid skier, wildflower enthusiast, and outdoor educator. Her special interests include sports, trade beads, art, and writing.
Bri Boykin
Bri graduated from Utah State University in May 2022 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Criminal Justice and Communications. She has relocated to Dallas, TX, where she works as a Retail Analyst for a division of EURPAC Services.
